Improve Termination Efficiency with Crosby's New Super Terminator™ Wedge Socket
The Crosby Group has introduced the first commercially available wedge socket that significantly improves the termination efficiency of several types of wire rope used with cranes. Cableworks is pleased to offer our customers the new Super Terminator™ for use with high-performance, high-strength, compacted strand and rotation-resistant wire rope.
This patent-pending wedge socket controls the seating of the wedge at the time of assembly, resulting in efficiencies of most ropes above 80% of their catalog breaking strengths. In addition, the mechanical system employed by the Super Terminator allows one person to overcome the "stiffness" associated with high-performance, high-strength, compacted strand and rotation-resistant rope. This allows that single person to easily assemble the termination.
Cableworks can supply Crosby's Super Terminator as an assembly in sizes from 5/8" to 1-1/4'. A kit is also available for retrofitting into existing Crosby S-421 Terminator wedge sockets. This new wedge socket is just one of many Crosby premium accessories that we carry.
