New OSHA Crane Construction Standard Now in Effect

Your Employees Can Become Qualified by Attending a Cableworks/Crosby Seminar

The new OSHA Crane Regulation 29 CFR 1926.1400 that went into effect on November 8, 2010 applies to cranes above 2,000 lb. capacity used in construction. It requires operators to be either certified by an accredited crane operator testing organization or qualified through an audited employer program. Signal people and riggers working with this equipment must also be qualified. The new OSHA standard specifies that employers are required to provide training for their employees so that they can be qualified or certified as applicable at no cost to the employees.

To assist our customers in qualifying their employees, Cableworks, in conjunction with The Crosby Group, began sponsoring a four-hour basic rigging seminar almost every month. Classes, offered at no charge, are conducted by an authorized Crosby trainer and are designed to ensure that participants possess the knowledge, training and experience needed so that their employers can document that they are qualified for their positions. Please contact Lynn Biesiadecki at lynnb@cableworksusa.com to sign up your employees for the next seminar.
